About the project
Over the last 12 months Letham4All have been working with Dr Bike to help local people to gain the benefit of cycling and at the same time help reduce the impact of the cost-of-living crisis by offering free and very low-cost repairs bicycles. After the delivery of monthly repair sessions, demand for the service has grown.
The sessions have also helped Letham4All understand some of the issues preventing people taking up cycling. These issues include actual affordability of owning a bike, confidence to ride a bike and how to maintain a bike.
To encourage and support people to travel actively by bicycle Letham4All and Dr Bike have worked together in application to Cycle Friendly Scotland to deliver a programme of activities to alleviate some of the issues which the community have identified as a barrier for cycling.
